Tony is the owner and principal Speech Pathologist at Soflex Speech Pathology. Tony is a down to earth, passionate and enthusiastic therapist who values being a positive support within his client's lives. Soflex Speech Pathology was created in 2024 from his motivation to cultivate positive genuine experiences during assessment and individualised intervention to support growth and wellbeing through independence in the home and community. Tony advocates for:
- High quality individualised flexible support and access to therapy
- Eating and drinking safely is a right for everyone
- Each individual can communicate with the right support
Tony works exclusively within the adolescent and adult population and primarily in NDIS assessment and intervention. With advanced clinical skills in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of communication and swallowing difficulties, Tony implements a strengths-based and client-directed intervention approach to assessment, education, goal setting and therapy.

As a Certified Practicing Speech and Language Pathologist (CPSP) with Speech Pathology Australia for over 14 years, Tony has extensive experience supporting individuals with difficulties communicating or swallowing. He has worked with clients in the aged care, health and disability sectors throughout Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales. Tony has worked across complex case management, contractor, trainer and clinical educator roles. Tony has held clinical advisory roles and provided clinical support, mentorship and supervision to Speech Pathologists, Australia wide. Tony's formative roles across almost 15 years have provided him with opportunities to develop a special interest in supporting adolescents and adults with complex communication (receptive, expressive, literacy, voice, social/pragmatics) or swallowing (dysphagia) difficulties.
Tony has completed extensive professional development in adolescent and adult assessment and intervention and has continued to do so frequently to maintain best practice standards and support optimal client outcomes.
Tony is originally from England. He grew up and gained his formal qualifications in Brisbane, before moving to the Gold Coast.
Tony, is a caffeine drinking, chocolate eating, outdoor hiking, football supporting, travel enthusiast.
When Tony is not at work you can find him spending time with family and friends, enjoying a coffee or whole block of chocolate to himself. As an accomplished photographer he is often exploring along the Gold Coast coastline in the early morning or evenings chasing a sunrise or sunset, or finding peace in life's simple pleasures (reading, people watching and listening to music).
